Christopher Dignan is an amateur astronomer who became hooked on the subject when he first looked at Saturn through a telescope 13 years ago. He now has an observatory in his back garden from where he takes images using refracting and reflecting telescopes of 3 to 8 inches in width on driven mounts. He uses various cameras including very sensitive specialist devices and adapted DSLR’s. Exposures range from a split second to several minutes and most images combine hundreds or thousands of shots. He hopes his images will inspire people to look at the heavens with even more wonder!!
